When we can help

Which labour disputes can you contact us about?

We assess every situation individually: the payments you may receive and their amounts depend on the specific circumstances and legal grounds.

Unpaid or incorrectly calculated wages

The full amount has not been paid or part of your wages is missing. We assess whether the calculation matches the contract and records.

Potentially unlawful dismissal or suspension

You disagree with the grounds or procedure for dismissal or suspension. A shorter application deadline applies to these disputes.

Holiday pay, severance pay and final settlement

Where holiday pay is unpaid or, after employment ends, the severance pay due, compensation for unused leave or other final settlement amounts have not been paid.

Wage deductions and damages

An amount has been deducted from your wages or your employer is demanding compensation for damage.

Contract terms, working time and rest periods

A dispute over changes to employment contract terms, working time, rest periods or the exercise of rights.

Unpaid overtime, night work and work on rest days or public holidays

Overtime, night work or work on rest days or public holidays has not been paid or has been paid incorrectly.

Unpaid daily subsistence allowances and business travel expenses

Where the employer does not pay the daily subsistence allowances due or reimburse business travel expenses.

Psychological abuse and discrimination at work

Where you experience psychological abuse or discrimination at work and want to assess your options for protecting your rights.

Cannot find your situation? Contact us: we will assess whether we can help with your labour dispute.

Results

A decision in the employee’s favour

Missed the 3-month deadline to apply to the Commission? That does not necessarily mean your rights are lost. In this case the Commission rejected the application because of the deadline, but the court upheld the claim in full.

Unpaid wages and penalties

The employer did not pay wages on the day of dismissal. The Commission rejected the employee’s application because the deadline had been missed, and the court awarded the full debt and 6 months of penalties.

Our principle

We first assess your claims and evidence

Not every claim is justified. We therefore start with a document review: we explain which claims can be substantiated with the available documents, what evidence is still missing and what amount may be claimed.

When the claim is clearly justified

Alternative payment option

If the review shows grounds for an application and you do not wish to pay further upfront fees for its preparation and representation at the hearing, we can offer: €100 for the review and 30% of the amount awarded for the application and representation.

When further evidence is needed

We will identify what is missing

We will identify any further documents or information needed to substantiate the claims and explain how to prepare an application to the Commission.

Frequently asked questions

What you should know about a DGK case

The general deadline for applying to DGK is 3 months from when you became aware, or should have become aware, of the infringement of your rights. For disputes concerning unlawful dismissal, suspension from work or a breach of a collective agreement, the deadline is 1 month. These are calendar months, not automatically 90 or 30 days, so do not delay. If the deadline has already passed, we assess the possibility of restoring it individually.
You can apply to the Labour Disputes Commission for unpaid wages and other payments related to employment. We assess what sums you are owed and whether there are grounds to claim penalties, and prepare the application to DGK. Contact us or leave an enquiry: it is enough to write that you want to complain about unpaid sums. We will contact you and find out your situation and which documents are needed.
You can apply to DGK for unpaid wages while the employment relationship continues. Send the employment contract, payslips and payment records. We will assess the unpaid amount, possible additional claims and the application deadline. The employer’s promise to pay later is not a reason to ignore the deadline.
The claims depend on the ground for dismissal, the procedure and the specific circumstances. We assess whether there are grounds to challenge the dismissal and which payments or compensation for damage can be claimed. Send the dismissal document, the employment contract and correspondence. A short, 1-month deadline applies to unlawful dismissal.
For employees, a document review costs €100 and preparation of an application to the Labour Disputes Commission costs €100. Employee representation at a DGK hearing costs €200 per hearing plus 10% of the amount awarded.
The document review helps assess which claims can be substantiated and what amounts may be claimed. We also assess any late-payment charges or statutory penalties you may be entitled to. A legal professional familiar with DGK proceedings helps formulate the claims and support them with documents and employment law.
If the review shows grounds for an application and you do not wish to pay further upfront fees for its preparation and representation at the hearing, we can offer an alternative: you pay only €100 for the review, and 30% of the amount awarded for preparation of the application and representation. We agree the terms before you commission the services.
We complete the review within 2–5 business days of receiving all documents. We contact you within one business day of receiving your enquiry.
No. A brief initial phone call is free, with no obligation to proceed. We clarify your situation and explain where to start.
A court claim may be filed within one month of the date of the DGK decision. The decision is usually made on the day of the hearing, so do not delay. Before proceeding, we assess the reasons for the decision and the prospects of litigation.
